How to choose which goals to focus on

1. Identify your cornerstone goals

As a staring point, remind yourself of your biggest priority for the upcoming months and years. Simply stepping back, recalling what matters the most has a grounding influence whenever your schedule gets hectic and trivialities begin to take over

2. Think about the why

Decide whether you're going after your goals or taking part in certian activities for the right reasons. Write down your goals, reflecting on why each one is important to you and its role in your life.

3. The three or four hobby rule

Aspire to do something that makes you money (whether currently or in the future). something that makes you happy, something that keeps you fit and soemthing that helps other people. Of course the more they overlap the better!

4. Talk to other people

At the end of the day, you know yourself better than anyone else. However talking to a person you trust or someone with expertise/strong life experience can help you decide which activities to keep and which to eliminate - a task that is far from straightforward

5. Journal and reflect with honestly

Journaling is an excellent tool for making sense of our thoughts and understanding ourselves. More often than not, being honest with ourselves and writing things down paves the way for a realization and therefore change within our life as a whole.

6. Reduce, don't eliminate

You don't have to cut something out of your life completely. Instead keep a particular hobby or goal at the back of your mind and rediscover it whenever you have some extra time for yourself.

7. Look to the future

Always think bigger. What will your life look like this time next year? What big events, changes or plans may impact your current routine? Plan accordingly and keep this in mind when setting goals and choosing where to channel your efforts.

8. Listen to your heart and intuition

Sometimes our hearts guides us to the right place in particular when assisted by evidence and careful thought. If something doesn't feel right, if a hobby turns from a joy into a burden or you want to invest your time elsewhere, that feeling is often there for a reason.
